Friday Funkishness

Freddie King-Boogie Funk
awhqposter.jpgHaven’t done any Friday Funkishness in awhile, but got the urge tonight after ruminating all week on the awesome vintage concert posters plastering the walls at Threadgill’s World Headquarters  and Scholz Garten in Austin. One of the posters near our table was this one circa 1970 for Freddie King. I saw Freddie in 1976 at the Tarrant County Convention Center in Ft. Worth. He opened for Eric Clapton then came out during Clapton’s set and they jammed. Quite a night for the blues here on the the plains of El Tejas Norte. Enjoy a little of Freddie’s Boogie Funk, have a happy Friday and a great weekend.
